“We have to do something to show that we are putting some effort into being different than the old show.”
“I know lets change the track, that’s different enough.”

“You know how we could improve the Nordschleife? Let’s limit the entire circuit to just the Dottinger Hohe and turn the entire damn thing into a drag strip.”

I like the change. Not the execution so much, but the change. Now, anyone taking bets on the first SIARPC* to catch a wheel on a berm and flip the Mini?
*Or whatever they’re calling it now

Is that actually what the track is like now? That’s just bad.

be a little melodramatic.

I considered that track to be in gearhead lore. Hallowed ground. Chris Harris wasn’t taking the lines right in the original track because the bits leading up to Chicago all changed.

But the main quirk of that segment was stuffing well renowned, well off celebrities into relative crap-mobiles... and they liked it.
I’m all for creating your own thing given the circumstances, but c’mon. Hands off the track!

Hey, can you un-ban me! No one seems to remember that it was only supposed to be a week. It’s been over that now.

Let’s be honest. Strictly as a track design, the old track isn’t that great. It’s a flat figure 8 with a bunch of long straights and a hairpin at one end. It’s just revered because it was TOP GEAR!’s track. Also the old track is still there and unchanged, aside from the possibility of a bit of dirt getting pulled out onto the surface now.

In a vacuum, you could say that about a lot of things. But context is 1000% of where I’m coming from.

They created a better, more interesting track, without harming the old track. The old track was only loved because it was on TV. The new track is on TV. I see no problems here.
